"Bugs Bunny Howl-o-Ween" special to be released on DVD

Yet another forgettable special with uneven clips of classic cartoons edited together with new/horrid animation... well, ateast there's also going to be 4 Looney Tunes DVDs with restored/new to DVD cartoons.

For some reason Cartoon Network aired it last Halloween, which should've stayed locked in the Warner Bros. water tower...

There's an article about Jessica Borutski from the Vancouver Sun.

Interesting.

Note: she (fortunately) didn't work on "Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon" (considering that it mentioned that John Kricfalusi have hired her)

Some notable facts posted on Toon Zone:

New "Looney Tunes" Animator Profiled

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Vancouver Sun profiles Jessica Borutski, one of the animators who has done design work for the upcoming The Looney Tunes Show.

Borutuski got the job after receiving a terse invitation eighteen months ago from Warner Bros. creative producer Tony Cervone, the newspaper reports.

The profile gives Borutski the responsibility for Bugs' enlarged feet and Daffy's spikier tail feathers, and it quotes animation authority Jerry Beck defending the artistic choice as "walk[ing] that middle ground between cute and dangerous — and that was a subtle something the old Warner Bros. cartoons also had."

The profile also notes that Borutski had been hired by John Kricafalusi out of college. The notoriously hard-to-please Kricfalusi remembers that "I gave her many of the hardest scenes, and she stoically did them and made them look great."

Another pic from the New & Unimproved Looney Tunes Show

Quote from: from Cartoon Brew
Collider.com has posted this image from the new CG Road Runner and Coyote shorts being produced for the new Looney Tunes Show coming to Cartoon Network. This new picture isn’t as exciting as the previously released image - but I believe the previous shot was from one of the upcoming theatricals and this new one is from the TV series. If anyone from the production would care to enlighten us, we’re all ears

...no commet, though Cartoon Network should run a marathon of the original cartoons before the debut of the new series. It would be no contest to determine which the new generation would prefer.

Marvin Martian looks good and the pics of Daffy looks decent despite of the tail feathers.  Pepe Le Pew is OK.

Majority of the characters looks off modeled and look too much like the typical Flash animation shown on television for the past decade (ie "Fairly Oddparents", "Johnny Test", "Total Drama Island")...

(the female duck is a newly created character named "Marisol"...though there was Melissa Duck from "Scarlet Pumpernickel")

First promo of the "The Looney Tunes Show"

Would watch it for the heck of it (yeah, I know it'll be horrible)...

What would be worse is that it'll  be shown on Boomerang in about a year or two, which doesn't even air the true classics. Tongue

Actually looks better than the CGI from the upcoming show, though somewhat OK (not great nor bad).  Still prefer the original cartoons...

Quote from: Cartoon Brew
We still don’t know whether the new Looney Tunes Show for Cartoon Network will meet our lofty expectations, but I was invited to a screening this past week to preview the three new CGI Road Runner-Coyote shorts for theatrical release — and my verdict is in: They’re terrific!

Coyote Falls is the first one out (it’ll be attached to Cats and Dogs 2 opening next Friday, July 30th). These are three-minute, three-dimensional cartoons in widescreen (scope). It works perfectly for these characters – the feeling of space in the vast desert only adds to Coyote’s desperation. This time he has ordered an ACME bungee cord and has set up a birdseed trap under a highway bridge. It’s a “foolproof” plan that takes everything into consideration … except oncoming traffic.

The characterizations, posing, even the sound effects and music (by Chris Lennertz) are spot on. I especially liked the explosions, which in cg have a stronger impact and thus are funnier. The 3-D is even used to extend into the audience – something most modern filmmakers are loathe to exploit. At three minutes these films really are too short (I think some trailers are longer than that), but they show real potential. This is the first Looney Tunes short produced by Sam Register’s new Warner Bros. Animation division. (BTW, the film is simply a Warner Bros. Cartoon with no Looney Tunes or Merrie Melodies designation). Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone are supervising producers along with Allison Abbate (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Corpse Bride, Iron Giant), Matthew O’Callaghan (Curious George) directed in respectful homage to Chuck Jones. The film begins with a very cool 3D CG WB-rings logo designed by Peter Girardi. Below is a 25-second clip to give you a taste – followed by three exclusive images.

They still can't beat hand drawn animation.

Comic Con 2010: Looney Tunes Show

"Tiny Toon Adventures" still has somewhat of a cult following, though honestly the show hasn't aged well, IMHO.

5 of the worst  Looney Tunes rehashes:

5. tv specials from 1970's/1980's (though few are tolerable)
4. Larry Doyle produced Looney Tunes that were never shown in the US
3. "Space Jam"
2. "Baby Looney Tunes"
1. "Loonatics Unleashed"

I kind of figured that you might go to that since it's in San Diego.

Trailer of the new Yogi Bear movie

Well, Justin Timberlake's Boo Boo is suprisingly close, but looks like another lame movie based on classic cartoon character.  Tongue And Anna Farris... she needs to get a new agent.

...While the original cartoons weren't the greatest, atleast they had it's charm with the sound effects, background music, and the voice-overs.

Warner Bros. is laying the groundwork for a live-action/CG feature film to star Bugs Bunny, Deadline Hollywood reports.

The studio has hired David Berenbaum, who wrote Elf, to do a script for the film, which is currently going under the title Bugs Bunny.
