Both of you have pretty good lists, many artists I like, some that I think "meh" about, and many more I haven't heard yet.  Well, I guess its true what they say...birds of a feather...

Sara Bareilles?  Thank you!  I kept forgetting the name after seeing her in the commercials for the IPod (I think it was an IPod commercial).  I LOVE her voice, and I gotta say, she bares a striking resemblance to Deb.

Here are just a few of my favorites from the new millenium.

Juliana Hatfield-"Tourist"
Juliana Hatfield-"Rats In The Attic"
Julaian Hatfield-"Oh"
Juliana Hatfield-"Dune"
Juliana Hatfield & Frank Smith-"If Only We Were Dogs"
Some Girls-"Almost True"
Some Girls-"Poor Man's You"
Some Girls-"Magnetic Fields"
Heidi Gluck-"Slow Motion"
Heidi Gluck-"Wing Walker"
The Pieces-"Lauren"
Paramore-"Misery Business"
Paramore-"Crush, Crush, Crush"
Queens of The Stone Age-"First It Giveth"
Queens of The Stone Age-"With The Flow"
Evanescence-"My Immortal"
Evanescence-"Call Me When You're Sober"
Evanescence-"Sweet Sacrifice"

Fergie's "Glamorous" is the best I've heard from her so far and one of the few good songs of the last several years.

I saw the Ting Tings perform on "Jimmy Kimmel" a few days ago, which they sound a bit like  '80's new wave. The song they performed was good.  Cool

The song was titled "Shut Up and Let Me Go"

"Great DJ" airs on VH1 time to time (well, in the dusk hours) is an OK song.

Have to wait since there's bands that I end up only liking one or two songs...

Saw Duffy singing a  ballad on Leno, which her voice sounded very rich, soothing, and a throwback to the 1960's (ie Dusty Springfield).

Also found out a few days ago that she writes her own songs.

I actually liked The Ting Tings' "We Started Nothing" album, which sounds like a throwback to '80's new wave (ie The Go Go's, B-52's) and all the songs are upbeat/catchy from the hit song  "Shut Up & Let Me Go", "That's Not My Name", "Traffic Light", and the title track. Unlike The Sounds, another '80's sounding band, the songs sound different and

Singer Katie White  has a pleasant voice that fits the style despite that she isn't the greatest (nor the worst).

Slightly off topic...

Favorite Music Videos of the 2000's

Didn't feel like writing another thread since music videos aren't popular and are hardly played anymore.

Natasha Bedingfield "These Words"... featuring Natasha walking around with dancing boom boxes. A fresh video and different from most pop videps that usually take place in a club.

The White Stripes "Fell In Love With A Girl"... animated video clip directed by Michel Gondry that's made from Lego blocks.

Fountains of Wayne "Stacy's Mom" ... homage to the pool scene of "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" featuring former model Rachel Hunter, whicha  new generation, including myself, actually developed a crush on her.

Ting Tings "Shut Up & Let Me Go"... great zooming effects (similar to White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army") and martial art moves between the members.

The 2000's are a VERY bad decade for music, but a few tracks I like are.

Usher "Pop Ya Collar"
Timbaland "The Way I Are"
Lara Fabian "Je T'aime"
Mandy Moore "Cry"
Hans Zimmer/Gladiator Soundtrack "The Wheat"

The Ting Tings will be performing at the VMAs, which their video "Shut Up & Let Me Go" is nominated for video of the year... though some emo, teeny bopper act, or rapper might get the award  Roll Eyes

Duffy's only nominated for best UK artist though the video for "Warwick Avenue" isn't good. "Mercy" is better, though the video's average.
