I have a really hard time coming up with a list for the 2000s.

Not just a hard time for me too, but it would obviously be an incredibly short list.

Honestly, the only artist from this decade I have  more than one album from is Natasha Bedingfield.

Duffy and The Ting Tings are too new   and only like a few songs from The Killers & White Stripes since both tend to sound repetative, IMHO.

I have some of the early "Now" (US version)  CDs, which contained a few of my favorite songs of this decade.

The Ting Tings will be performing at the VMAs, which their video "Shut Up & Let Me Go" is nominated for video of the year... though some emo, teeny bopper act, or rapper might get the award  Roll Eyes

Duffy's only nominated for best UK artist though the video for "Warwick Avenue" isn't good. "Mercy" is better, though the video's average.

It's been announced that The Ting Tings' "Shut Up & Let Me Go" won best UK video.  Cool

The Ting Tings' "That's Not My Name"

Wouldn't be out of place with early '80's new wave  Cool

Best of 2008:

The Ting Tings... while a throwback to the  early '80's singer Katie White's voice is limited (ie probably not good in the ballad department. Atleast better than another Katy) also should expand or experiment with their sound like their influences The Talking Heads and even Blondie on their next album.

Duffy... Another throwback artist, though to the soulful 60's. Some of her songs are good like "Stepping Stone", "Warwick Avenue", and her first hit "Mercy", which is the only uptempo song on her debut album "Rockferry". OK, though if I'm in a good mood.

Natasha Bedingfield... her second album's quite good. It features some of her best ballads like "Soulmate" (ironically recently engaged) and "Say It Again". Also uptempo pop songs like "How Do You Do", "I Wanna Have Your Babies" (I actually find it catchy. It's ironic on how it's panned and yet I've heard worse... ) and  (from the US release) "Pocketful of Sunshine".

Saw  Natasha Bedingfield video for  "Soulmate" recently on regular VH1. A bit ironic since she's recently engaged, which she have finally found one. Though the video posted is from the UK (2007). (should've recorded to see if it's the one I saw since I don't remember much of the video and only saw the last minute...then again I've been watchig more older videos and YouTube)

There's going to be a US version of the "That's Not My Name" video from the Ting Tings that'll air next week...

(Honestly, wasn't aware since the official video's already on YouTube. Though on their official site stated that it was for the UK)

Rolling Stone didn't rank any of their songs nor their debut album on their "Best of" list for 2008 and also was omitted on VH1's "Top 40 Videos of 2008". Then again, what do they know...  Roll Eyes

I honestly I like UK version of "That's Not My Name"  (which looks simple, but still decent) better than the new version made for the US, which I found a bit cheesy with the smoke machine, random people holding signs and even playing double dutch.

Saw them perform (actually filmed what looked to be around New Years) on the Carsick Daly dusk talk show, which they performed "Great DJ".

Duffy won Grammy Best Pop Album for her debut "Rockferry" (read news, didn't bother to watch the show)

Though I like a few songs ("Mercy", Warwick Avenue"), I wouldn't exactly call it the best of this decade.

Where was Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful Of Sunshine" or Euro band The Ting Tings?

"Boarderline" was one of Madonna's best songs.  She's never really been able to top her first album.

How tall is Duffy anyway?

Though was overplayed and quickly got sick of it several years ago, Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" isn't that bad of a song.
