DIRECT FROM BROADWAY, CIRQUE DREAMS Jungle Fantasy will heat up the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods this summer. Proclaimed, “The grandest circus spectacle east of Vegas” by New York Magazine, CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY debuted at the Broadway Theatre in June 2008 and is the first and only show of its kind ever to perform on Broadway. This groundbreaking theatrical spectacle will again become an entertainment first when Debbie Gibson, the Original Pop Princess, performs in the title role of Mother Nature. Never before has a pop star or celebrity been featured as the lead vocalist in a cirque show. CIRQUE DREAMS Jungle Fantasy opens at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods on July 27, 2010 and runs through September 1, 2010 for 36 performances only. Tickets are on sale now.
Created and directed by Neil Goldberg, CIRQUE DREAMS Jungle Fantasy is an exotic encounter inspired by nature’s unpredictable creations that are brought to life by an international cast of soaring aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, acrobats, jugglers and musicians. The astounding feats performed in this action packed Cirque Dream are enhanced with over 150 spectacular costumes which were nominated for an American Theatre Wing Best Costume Design Award. All this comes to life in a fantastical jungle setting filled with flowers, mushrooms and giant trees ignited by striking visual effects. From the breathtaking ballet of butterflies and soaring birds to the balancing giraffes and flipping monkeys, this world-class explosion of athleticism includes never before seen acts exclusively at MGM Foxwoods that will exhilarate and entertain audiences of all ages.
Performing the role of Mother Nature, Debbie Gibson exploded on the pop music scene at age 16 becoming the youngest person ever to write, produce and perform a number one single, (“Foolish Beat”). After rising to fame in the ’80s with hit songs “Electric Youth,” “Only In My Dreams” and “Lost in Your Eyes”, the Long Island native focused on musical theatre, performing in the Broadway companies of Les Misérables, Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast and the original West End production of Grease as well as the national tours of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Funny Girl and Cinderella. Gibson has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide. (
