Now this was considered to be cutting edge or New Wave back in the late 80s.  It's so much better than what's considered to be that now.  This is when the music video was really at its peak.

There's nothing "cutting edge" now since it's all been done and there's no creativity.

Many new wave/early alternative bands had their own style and was easy to indentify who's who  (ie The Go-Go's, Blondie,  Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, The Police, INXS, Duran Duran, etc.),, in contrast to the last 17 years where majority sound very much a like (majority of the grunge bands and "pop punk" bands like Green Day & The Offspring)

I fugure the reason why so many bands sound alike is because there are really only two or three people that are producing stuff anymore.  At least big name producers.  They more or less recycle the same sound over and over again.

Another TV legend passed since Barbara Billingsly (June Cleaver) a few days ago.

Lesley Gore "It's My Party", very funny & probably the best out of the videos that were uploaded.

While it lasts since it's the original 1963 recording not a re-recording.

According to the person who uploaded the clip it was made for a tv special or video tape titled "Deja View" that aired in 1989. (though IMDB states 1986, which looks more accurate since one clip featured the cast of "St. Elsewhere" in a lame medical drama/musical setting) Featuring the original artists and the videos done by "professional video makers".  Also to cash in with the 60's nostalgia & music video crazes. (though promotional videos have been around for decades)

The Zombies' "She's Not There" looked OK,

Unfortunately the video for The Box Tops ("The Letter") wasn't good since the intro just drags and the clip is boring...

Move over Scooby...here's "Flash Beagle", from the '80's Peanuts special of the same title. While doesn't come close to "Joe Cool", the song's catchy.

Desiree Goyette also sang in most "Garfield" specials and  voiced Nermal on the "Garfield & friends" show.

I remember that one.  It was from one of the Garfield TV specials, when they had real animation.  The hardest song to sit through that I've ever heard is "A Little Fall of Rain" from "Les Miserables."

"Crash & Burn Rock"

'80's hard rock/metal songs AMVs set to random vintage film footage from vintage creature features, newsreels, and various "public domain" films.

"Duck & Cover" with Burt the Turtle wasn't shown...  

Might be a letdown for people who are looking for a particular music video that's not on DVD and/or live performances.




Thankfully got it for a buck at a used bookstore. It's interesting, though now very common on YouTube. Would make a decent compilation CD though...

Noticed a 4 second footage of "Coal Black & De Sebben Dwarfs", a silhouette of So White & Prince Chawmin  on Garbo Talks "Everybody Rock Now"  

 And Dopey smacking the evil queen with a mallet & the Prince's car on Zodiac Mindwarp's "Driving On Holy Gasoline"...  From what I know, it's not in the public domain. Though I'm sure most Godzilla films aren't, though a few were according to a Google search.

Janet Jackson's best video and maybe her best song.  It's a very sexy video but it's not slutty like so many today are.  This was the time when she was really in her prime.

"Lovergirl" Teena Marie

All condolences Teena Marie's family, friends, fans, etc.  R.I.P 

She was 54, which is young... though no word of the cause of her passing though she had a history with drugs
