OK, that's probably the corniest thread title I've ever written Official Burger King kids meal site...which advertise the toys source: Reelz channel site sourceBurger king toys for the film came out in early January 2010 even though the film had no release date nor even a poster or trailer to let audiences know a Hoodwinked sequel was coming out in 2010. Apparently The Weinstein Company show the promotional rights to Burger King promising a January release date and Burger King went through with the promotion even though the film was no longer being released in January 2010. No matter what the reason it is clear the Burger King promotion will not benefit the theatrical release since it will be long over before the film is released, should it see a theatrical release and not go direct-to-DVD like so many other Weinstein Company films due to their financial problems. Oddly, can't find official news about it. Also odd is that most people probably weren't aware that there was a "Hoodwinked" sequel. Personally, I thought it was scrapped sometime ago. Though the original was OK sourcefrom November 2009 HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD vs. EVIL, directed by Mike Disa (The Origin of Stitch)
The good…the bad…the Twitchy.
From the team that brought you Hoodwinked, the hilarious re-telling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable which grossed over US $110 million worldwide, comes the side-splitting follow-up HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD vs. EVIL. The sequel catches up with our heroine, Little Red, training with a covert group called the Sisters of the Hood. Finishing her training, Little Red is sent out on her first mission by the returning Nicky Flippers - head of the Happily Ever After Agency - to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel.
Of course, what is a sequel without guest stars from the original? Thankfully, Granny, and the rest of the Hoodwinked gang, including the intrepid reporter, the Wolf, also return to help solve the forest’s latest caper. HOODWINKED TOO! is sure to be a rollicking, clever, comic rollercoaster that promises to combine edge of the seat adventure with classic zany cartoon antics. found on Google and taken from dartington.org "barn cinema" site

Just got a Twitchy (squirrel) figure, which makes "chattering" noises and some chicken tenders. As for a release...considering the mess the Weinstein company is in... I'm not too sure. Though many people (especially kids & parents) will also be confused. It'll probably be talked about in sites like Cartoon Brew & Toon Zone's news blog soon since the toys are now out... source: original "Hoodwinked" director Cory Edwards' blogSunday, January 17, 2010 Hoodwinked 2: Coming Sometime, Someday
I've gotten lots of questions about "Hoodwinked Too: Hood Vs. Evil." Everyone wants to know when it's coming out, why it got moved from its original release date, what's going on with toy tie-ins, etc. Here's the short answer: I don't know. No idea. The exec producers and Weinstein Company have not shared a whole lot about their game plan with me. I wrote the thing three years ago and that's it. Another guy directed it, and I've only seen an early version of the film. I'm sure some of you have started seeing posters for the TOYS that are about to hit Burger King this month. Check it out! (thanks for the pic, Asa)
While seeing my characters as BK toys is crazy-cool, I found out about it the same time any of you did. I have not seen the toys themselves, but I can't wait to go get some. Yes, that's right. I will have to go buy my own toys. That's the world I live in. So all I can tell you about H2 is to watch for trailers and commercials. I've heard rumors of February, and BK toys are a strong indicator that it will be out soon.

Got 4 out of the six toys... (Now just the woodsman and Red...)
As for collecting, it's just to get "Hoodwinked" memorabilia to display.
Recently saw the commercial for the Burger King kids' meal and it only featured a very short clip of the granny jumping around lasers. Not on YouTube and don't think there's other variations of the ad.

Completed the set with "Power Kicking Red"... and took down the co-stars and various figurines Some news regarding the Weinstein company... sourceWeinstein Co.'s 'Hurricane Season' blows straight to DVD January 22, 2010 | 1:05 pm A movie about a high school basketball team that rose above the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina -- a film that starred an Oscar winner -- got caught up in Hurricane Weinstein and was quietly dumped into video stores by the production company last month.
"Hurricane Season," starring Forest Whitaker, was based on the true story of a Marrero, La., high school basketball team's amazing run to a state championship with a group of players who were all displaced by Katrina. Besides Whitaker, the movie features Taraji Henson and rapper Lil Wayne.
Filmed in 2007 and 2008, "Hurricane Season" was supposed to be released last year but was kept on the shelf. Company Town specifically asked Weinstein Co. about the fate of "Hurricane Season" last week when we wrote about "Piranha 3-D" getting delayed. We were told there was no hard date for it (or several other movies sitting on the shelf there), and became aware of its straight-to-DVD fate only when a reader sent us a note. (Sorry, we don't get to Blockbuster as much as we used to.)
"Hurricane Season" director Tim Story ("Barbershop," "Fantastic Four") told Company Town that he was disappointed the movie never made it to the big screen. “I have to applaud them for making the movie, but I don’t believe the job was finished,” he said.
The company said its well-publicized financial issues had nothing to do with the decision regarding "Hurricane Season." In a statement, Weinstein Co. senior executive David Glasser said, "It's a very tough marketplace and unfortunately the film did not test well. It was in the best interest of the financial returns on the picture to go straight to video."
Other Weinstein Co. movies in limbo include John Cusack's "Shanghai" and Ryan Gosling's "All Good Things." The company also has recently said it was delaying the releases of "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" as well as the above-mentioned "Piranha 3-D." If any of these are already in video stores, please let us know.

Hansel...Hansel? source: Blue Yonder FilmsWhen Blue Yonder created the Hoodwinked franchise, the aim was to deliver a fresh and lively take on the animated family comedy, with unique characters that could leap into different genres with each new installment. If the first feature was a send-up to classic detective films like The Thin Man, the sequel, penned by Todd Edwards, Cory Edwards, Tony Leech and director Mike Disa, is more of an action film that places the characters in an 80's Lethal Weapon scenario. The story finds teen Red (Hayden Panettiere) training in a distant land with a mysterious covert group called Sisters of the Hood. She is called upon by Nicky Flippers (David Ogden Stiers)--head of the Happily Ever After Agency--who teams her with the Wolf (Patrick Warburton) to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader and Amy Poehler). The characters of Granny (Glenn Close), the Woodsman (Martin Short), and Boingo (Andy Dick) return and are joined by colorful new characters. Co-produced and co-financed by The Weinstein Co. and Kanbar Animation. January 2010 .

Though already old news, it's now mentioned in Cartoon Brew. Probably done in purpose since Burger King will give away new toys in early February and the toys would be officially be "out of production"... Have all the toys and two extra unopened source: Cartoon BrewWhatever happened to Hoodwinked Too? January 29, 2010 1:00 pm

And most of you are asking “Who cares?”
The original Hoodwinked had art direction and character design that were - let’s face it - p!ss poor, but I enjoyed the film nonetheless. It had a funny, clever script with good performances — and took me (and a whole lot of other people) by surprise, grossing $51 million in January 2006.
The Weinstein Company has pulled the sequel, Hoodwinked Too: Hood vs. Evil, off its release schedule for the time being. It was first set for January 15th 2010, then pushed back to February 12th, and now… who knows? According to his blog, Hoodwinked’s creator himself, Cory Edwards, has no idea when the film will be released. But that hasn’t stopped Weinstein’s pre-existing deal with Burger King to offer toys from the sequel in its Kids Meals this month. Better scoop them up now, they may become quite a collectible. from Cory Edwards' blog Thursday, January 28, 2010
BK Toys - The Next Best Thing To Action Figures
So weird and cool to see these. Since the movie is delayed, maybe the toys can tip you off to some secrets about the sequel...
Red's outfit is a little different this time... and she does a lot of kicking.
Yes, that's Granny wearing a "Kill Bill" styled motorcycle jumpsuit. She does not decapitate anyone with a samurai sword, though. And that red jump rope is supposed to be a laser beam she can hop over. Hmmmm.
And here you can see some new main characters: Hansel and Gretel, as well as the Woodsman's new disco duds. And just to save more render time on fur, the Wolf is wearing pants. The Burger King commercial does show a quick clip of the Granny jumping through lasers.

My children loves toy that goes with their meal. However, I don't find toys from Burger King to be that attractive. I think McDonald's has better looking toys that goes with their kiddie meals.

Movie out on April 29th. Official trailer Two flatulence jokes in the trailer and also in 3-D none the less... doesn't look good Though chuckled by Red talking on the 4 armed Shrek looking ogre. Ironically it's coming out during the same time as "Rio", which Anne Hathaway is a voice-actress on (she voiced Red Riding Hood on the first "Hoodwinked"). The cheerleader from "Heroes", Hayden Panettiere, is voicing Red on the sequel.

from Cory Edwards' blog (director of 1st "Hoodwinked") sourceYou’ll see that the sequel is distinctly different from the original in look and tone, but a film is shaped by its director and I did not direct this one. Forgive the abundance of fart jokes and crotch kicks — those were not in the script we wrote (okay, ONE… but that was really a “nerve gas joke”). Also, this trailer has some sound effects and lines that aren’t even in the movie. I guess the Weinstein machine thought it needed ONE more fart sound and ONE more joke about Twitchy not wearing pants. It’s weird to write something four years ago, have it evolve in others’ hands, and then finally see it hit the screen. And I’m going to miss the unique musical stamp Todd put on the first movie with all his original songs — not here on this one.

I don't even remember the last time I was in a Burger King. It had to have been a very long time ago. I can remember Burger Chef.
