"Skirts" was originally supposed to be a movie, which Deb was to star in and also wrote several (or all) of the original songs for the soundtrack. Later became a musical she wrote.

Did she buy the script and tweaked (ie did some changes) it to make it her own?

I recall it was about an all girl school in the 1960's, both the film and the musical.

Was "Skirts" supposed to be a musical (ie "Grease")or a regular (can't think of a better term) movie like Mandy Moore's "Walk To Remember"?

Just curious.

I know she completed it, or at least she said she did, but I think she might have run into copyright problems.  That is speculation on my part but she was ready to audition it and then she ran into a brick wall.  I have a feeling that the studio that ownes the rights to the original script probably wouldn't let her go on with it.
