Before heading out this morning I turned on the tv because Deb was gong to be KTLA CH 5 in Los Angeles this morning. She was on at about 8:45. She was there to tell everyone about her camp and also the Jeans auction that is going on. She then performed OIMD. They had a bunch of kids from the camp singing backup for her. Also a guy playing bongo drums.

Of all the HD channels on my cable service KTLA seems to be just about the best. Just an outstanding picture in HD and Deb looked great. We always hear she is writing new music via her you tube videos and such. I think I would rather have heard a new song instead of OIMD

As far as the auction, its great she is trying to raise money for her camp, but I still find it a little weird to be buying somones old clothes. Almost like a garage sale. I think it would have been a little more tastefull if maybe she would have made a CD of new music or maybe another CD similar to Memory Lane and raise money that way. Seems others feel the same last time I looked there were only 4 bids for her autogrpahed Jeans.

I no longer understand any of the business decisions or why new music is not released.  I do feel that the GG Foundation is another way to make money for Deb.  At least the camp is a good thing overall.  I stand by releasing piano and vocal songs that are great on iTunes

It's easy to see why you don't understand. It's because it seems none of the decisions taken are aiming towards what you have in mind for her. Therefore, you find it irritating ! Now the fact that you feel that the Gibson Girl Foundation is another way for Deb to make money just proves that you have no clue what a foundation is !!! I mean, did you had to prove that ? Don't expect me to say I'm surprised !

(With that said, I remember a few years back on this board, some moron proved that I was stupid because I didn't knew who the Grammy winners' were !!! Now that's pathetic as here, I'm talking REAL proofs) !!

And you're the one that said we have no idea how Deb writes ... Now that's funny :-)

I'm sure you thought making Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus was a great idea.  Grin

Eric, I can only say you are stupid because of the way you write "I mean, did you had to prove that ?"
If you mean how do I prove that she is making money off of the GG Foundation, it is easy.  The foundation is a foundation she created possibly with her mom.  The money, so far, and hopefully it will change, goes to a camp she (possibly) profits from.  It is great that the kids get to go to camp.  Not arguing that and sick of the stupid people on this board putting words in my mouth.  But again, the money from the GG Foundation goes to support her camp.  Oh stupid one, does that make sense now?

Damn ...

Brinla : Through Twitter, Deb seemed satisfied with the whole Only In My Jeans sales, so there you have it !

Donald : Interesting story I have concerning MS vs GO. First off, "Debbie Gibson" is totally unknown in France, don't ask me why. Anyway, couple of weeks back, I've had friends over and I have this french friend that took my Mega Shark DVD going "Holly %$%4" and told us what he knew about the movie. And soon enough I'm sure, we'll have our evening of watching the movie with pop corn and ... maybe coffee !

So it can't be a bad thing. It's exposure. Exposure towards people that are into si-fi B movies and stuff like that. You have to realise that those people watching the movie knows what to expect, they love that stuff !

Million : Nice try ... But wrong again ... Follow me here as I'm not gonna repeat. The childrens that are going to be benefiting from the money raised through Gibson Girl Foundation are going to be able to use that money to an art camp of their choosing anywhere on planet Earth.

I'll say this much and that is that Deborah is doing a lot more than Lindsay Lohan is right now or has done for years and Lindsay is considered to be a "major" celebrity.  All LL is doing right now is wearing SCRAM bracelets, partying in Cannes and "losing" passports (My dad stole it!).

why compare the 2?  LL is half deb's age and LL has had a successful movie, music, and modelling career.  Deb has not and her broadway accomplishments are not LL's aspirations at the time.  I don't like LL but the only thing they have in common is success at a young age and both had careers that were failing in their 20's and they are both from Long Island, New York.  Let's see what LL does over the next 15 years+ and compare them.  Let's hope she makes it to her 30's and 40's.  but most importantly who cares about LL and Deb when comparing anything?  who cares to compare deb's career to anyone's.  What exactly is Deborah's career?  A camp owner and counselor?

Because Lindsay Lohan is held up by some as the greatest celebrity of all time and the standard by which all are measured against (TMZ).  People now are confusing talent with scandal.  In order to have a career you have to be highly scandal prone.  In the past three years or so Lindsay has done really nothing career wise and all of her headlines have been about drugs, alcohol, car accidents, and other legal trouble.  She was up for several movie roles but has lost them one by one because the studio's insurance companies are refusing to underwrite her because they think she won't be able to complete the movie.  She does no work and all of her headlines are negative.  "Mega Shark" isn't going to win a single award but at least Deborah was not only able to get the role and the work but she was able to complete it also.  In a short time Lohan will be begging for a movie like that in some vain attempt to revive a career.  Deborah isn't high profile but at least she's working.  People criticize Deborah for not being a bigger name or not doing things to have a higher profile career but turn around and praise somebody like Lindsay Lohan or Britney and hold them up as the model female celebrity that everyone should aspire to.  The only model that they are is being the poster children for how you don't want to be.  Deborah is about to turn 40, if Lohan doesn't change her path soon she won't ever turn 30.

Not only is the performance from KTLA on there but there is also a short interview from backstage after her performance (Watch the last minute of the video on her webpage). HMM it seems like she has a secret about an upcoming music project and a secret about an upcoming movie project. So we get yet another teaser from her about what she has in the works. I really wish she would just wait and tell us about these things when something is actually set in stone and WILL happen. I thought the days of keeping secrets from each other were done with when we left High School. She also made some comment about going home and giong back to bed. Whatever   Roll Eyes

iI've NEVER held Lindsey up on a pedestal. Good for Deb that she did Mega Shark, but it's a B-Movie that would be prime material for MST3K.
