A couple of my current favorites favorites are

Katie Melua covering Randy Newman's "I think it is going to rain today". Especially this version. The very end of this song is amazing. I can't wait to go see her this coming sunday on her USA Acoustic Tour. Below is a link.

Most cover songs just don't compare to the original but Hayley Westenra's version of "Both Sides Now" is an exception.

Recently discovered that Bananarama's "He Was Really Saying Something" is a cover of a song from The Velvelettes.

Though one of Bananarama's biggest hits from the US is "Venus", which is cover of a Shocking Blue song.

Recently bought a rare benefit CD titled "Make A Difference Foundation" that featured various hard rock/metal artists covering their favorite songs from the 1960's & '70's. Some were quite good from The Scorpions "I Can't Explain", Cinderella "Move Over", Bon Jovi "The Boys Are Back In Town", Motley Crue "Teaser" and even Ozzy Osbourne (Zakk Wylde on guitar) take on "Purple Haze" was tolerable.

Also featured three All Star Jam performances from the Moscow Peace Festival featuring the artists, which all are featured on the disc.
